Tributo a Wilmar Villar Mendoza

The Cuban dissident has died Wilmar Villar Mendoza, 31 years old, she died, yesterday, in the Clinical Surgical Hospital of Santiago from Cuba, 900 kilometers to the southeast of Havana, after remaining fifty six days in strike of hunger. Already in the last part doctor that was diffused on Wednesday, it aimed the graveness: a pneumonia and an infection that it affected to the kidneys and the liver.

It was arrested the month of November of 2011. Their strike of hunger began 24 in that same month. Wilmar Villar Mendoza one declares in strike of hunger in protest for the condemnation to four years of jail to which was condemned by their activities opponents to the Cuban Government's regime.

The activist opponent Elizardo Sánchez that directs the 'Cuban Commission of Human rights and National Reconciliation', said that Villar spent several days in "state I criticize", in a room of intensive cares of the Hospital. Adding "the Commission considers that all the moral responsibility, politics and artificial in connection with the death of Wilman Villar, relapses in the government from Cuba, because Villar was low the custody of the authorities", and this death, was, avoidable" "death.

heir same bill of Twitter she wondered: "How many more they have to die? How many more?".

The death of Wilmar confirms it Yoani Sánchez, in its bill of Twitter, I "Spoke with Maritza wife of Wilman Villar and it confirms its death. They have not allowed to see the body." In their same bill of Twitter she wondered: "How many more they have to die? How many more?".

She makes a moment, Yoani, in their Twitter had announced: They Have Just Liberated Guillermo Fariñas. At least A good news in this unfortunate" day.

A morte de Vilar Mendoza não devia deixar ninguém indiferente;

The death of Vilar Mendoza shouldn't let anyone indifferent;

Not even the supporters, friends and accomplices of the Cuban regime, even those who live in totalitarian societies where the «Respect for Human Rights» boils down to an expression of diplomatic convenience.

Quanto a mim, mais do que me chocar faz-me pensar;

As for me, more than it shocks me it makes me think;
About the deep reasons (the reason) that takes a man, a "dreamer of freedom", to let himself die of hunder because of feeling helpless and unable of doing any other thing, in a last attempt to warn the world where what matters is the economic and financial greed (more or less camouflaged in political meetings as happened recently with the "visit" of our leaders in Luanda) and where the hypocrisy dispute with the demagoguery "baton" orchestration of political rhetoric.

I think of Cuba, the Cubans, historically resigned to blackmail from those who think themselves "masters of the world" - The USA.

But, I think too about the angolans, the mozambicans, the guineans... and, of course, the portuguese.

How many more people must let themselves die for his ideals for the world to put, for once, the economic interests away and invest in defense of the oppressed in a genuine and unconditional Defense of the Human Rights.

I am with Vilar Mendoza as I am with all the free thinkers that, respecting the freedom of others, make themselves respected.
